Easy. Use the Audio In on your sound card and use sound recorder.
OOPS you said reel to reel video. Reel to reel usually refers to audio.
You will need to buy a video adapter. Costs less than $100.
Presumably your player has video out as "composite" output (little round plug - usually yellow). Your adapter will have "video in" (same size, color) and the cable between the two is very common, available at Radio Shack.
Firewire is for digital transfer, like off a newer, expensive Video Camera.
