PROMASTER AND FUJIFILM SLR QUESTIONS!!!!! EASY 10 POINTS FOR PRO PHOTOGRAPHERS!!!!?
Here's a simple 10 points if you know your stuff.
I own a Fuji SLR from the 80's. It's broken and I don't plan on getting it fixed but of course I do have like 5-7 lenses. They are PROMASTER lenses. I currently own a Canon Rebel Xsi
1. How is the optical quality of Promaster as a general company? (ex. most people would say Nikon and Canon as excellent)
2. I said I had a FUJI body, not FujiFILM. Are they the same? I heard that they are, it's just fuji is what they call it in japan.
3. Promaster is a 3rd party lens company, if they fit on a fuji what other cameras will they fit on and considering these lenses are 30 years old, will they fit on modern fuji cameras? (what brands altogether)
If you are not sure, please say so.

1 - Optical quality is fair. They DO pass light.....
2 - Fuji is but a name in a larger ocean of companies, however, the Fuji line, be what it is, comes from one of the multi arms of a parent company.
3 - The 30 year old Fuji mount is it's own mount. Nothing I am aware of is even close anymore. They will not fit anything today, especially the Canon Eos mount.
Modern Fujifilm D-SLR's are actually Nikon bodies and use the Nikon F mount. The older and first S-1 Fuji D-Slr Camera was a re-worked Nikon N-60 Film Body camera. The S-2 was a N-80 Nikon film body, as was the S-3. However, their newer S-5 is a re-worked Nikon D-200 digital body. Again, being Nikon bodies, they all take Nikkor Lenses or lenses made to fit a Nikon.
Your best bet is to eBay or Craigslist your old lenses while you can and get 1 or maybe 2 lenses to fit your Canon. They are NOT worth hanging on to....
