Hello Mack, I had the Pentax-A 50mm 1:02, and I do not like. It is soft wide open. It was not really strong enough for me (for general use) to f/5.6. All he has going for it is that is very compact and sells for pocket change. The Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective is MUCH better. The Pentax-A 1:1.4 50 mm is great too, though of course more expensive than 1.7. The Super-SMC-Takuma Takuma and 50/1.4 are excellent lenses. Some say the 50/1.4 SMC-Tak is a of the sharpest lenses ever made. Good luck and have fun! Greg
