How I can import video on my Sony Minidv Handycam Dcr-HC52 to my PC with a Firewire Cable?
I know how to edit and stuff through Windows Movie Maker, but how do I actually get the video files on my PC? Apparently, it uses Minidv Tapes, so how I was going to transfer a tape to my PC? Please answer this question if you can help me! I will give you a better answer if you help me out (10 points yahooanswer).
The Sony Dcr-HC52 has a 4-pin DV port. Your computer should have a firewire port. You need to connect the DV port on the camcorder to the firewire port on your computer. USB will not work unless accidentally and magically you can get USB streaming to work (very unlikely). USB to firewire converter / cable / hub / adapter things will not work. When properly connected to the firewire and the camcorder connected to AC power and "Play" mode, launch the video editor, and "Capture" video.
