Digital Camera Question, what does this mean?
I am looking to buy a digital camera and I realized I do not know what nothing this means! What is digital and Optical Zoom, and the difference or importance of them? What do all these terms? -Central/Spot/Matrix Measurement-MPEG4 video with audio (MPEG4 Part) -15 and 11 Scene Mode digital filters -1.6 "Tft Lcd - Optical sensor CCD and Cmos Sensor, digital filter, PASM-L exposure / R-adjustment of the image sensor and ISO Pixel Array-I know, much to describe, but I really appriciate the help, if you know what I mean perhaps I will not get ripped off. And please keep in terms lamance if I could! xD Thank you in advance!
Digital Zoom is when you crop an image, then zoom in on the cropped image. This is usually done after taking the picture. The image is likely to lose quality based on the camera. The optical Zoom Lens gets in the camera itself. Basically zooming in the camera before taking the picture. Central / Spot / Matrix Metering: These are different modes of the camera that could be available as a configuration property. It has to do with the exposure of the image you are taking. Central: the camera is used information from light the whole scene, but will give you light in the center of a higher priority. Spot: The camera will only have a small point in the scene into account when calculating the exposure. For example, when you take a picture of someone with the sun behind them, many times the camera is set for the background, making the dark theme and background clear. Metering mode allows you to take the exposure of people face instead of the sky behind them. Matrix: I think this has to do with the function self. Supposedly, it takes the best exposure that the scene needs. I think it is usually a default value for the cameras. MPEG-4 video and audio: A type of codec. What is a codec? Basically, it's a small program that can read video and audio information. It's what touches your videos. MPEG-4 makes your video files and audio small but big enough to play. It is usually used for streaming videos. scene modes is a special way the camera settings so you can adjust the exposure and recording some scenarios such as landscape, portrait, indoor, outdoor, beach / snow, day / night, backlight, panning, etc. So I guess looking at his camera boasts 15 different scene modes. not bad. Digital filters are lenses of different settings for better quality pictures. ie, polarizing filters, ultraviolet filters, Neutral Density filters, etc. Some of them get rid of reflections, some of them help the images more vibrant colors, and many other useful things. 1.6 "TFT LCD is basically the size of your screen. It is 1.6 inches wide and long term. CCD and CMOS are the chips inside the camera that translates the light traveling in the camera into digital information. These are very important for all cameras. CCD (device charged coupled). CMOS (metal oxide semiconductor complementary) All you need to know is that it is a newer CMOS chip that has been created recently, but not so advanced as the CCD chips. At the moment, the differences would be ... CCDs are better at collecting light and less Grainer that CMOS chips. So a better image quality. chips CMOS consumes less power than CCD chips, but at a cost of image quality. It really depends on what is going to use. PASM Exposure: Program-something as an automatic mode with aperture priority the camera automatically chooses the best shutter priority apeture the camera chooses the best shot from automatic-manual change the aperture and shutter manually L / R are adjustments to the left and the right settings on the camera. mostly used when navigating the menu. When you want to change sure setting numerical values, which has a Left / Right button, usually the left is the smallest number since the right is the largest number. pixel array: it has to do with the resolution of the image. ie 640x480, 800x600, etc higher the number the better. ISO Yes, ISO is a speed adjustment. that has numbers like 100, 400, etc. The higher the number, the more sensitive to light it is. Hurray! That was fun. good practice.
