What is the difference between an AC adapter and a battery charger?
I lost the charger that came with my Digital Camera. Therefore, I bought an AC adapter 5V. Is this the same thing as a battery charger? Or only works while connected to the wall now?
AC and DC are completely different. Your digi cam is designed and capable of feeding only accept low-level DC. If the AC plug that will not work and / or FRY circuits of the camera if the rated voltage is high. You should get an adapter that puts the necessary DC voltage and amperage to work.
